Chipset genealogy is a weird hobby, but sometimes new chipsets require us to do some digging. With that in mind, the new Dimensity 6400 chipset from MediaTek arrives as a light refresh of the Dimensity 6300 from last year, itself a small upgrade over the 6100+ from 2023. But this chip’s roots go back even further. The Dimensity 6400 is fabbed on a 6nm TSMC process and features an octa-core CPU: 2x Cortex-A76 at 2.5GHz and 6x A55 at 2.0GHz.
