Gurman also notes that the upcoming iPhone will get the latest in-house cellular and wireless chips, the C1X and N1. OpenAI's first hardware product will be AI-powered earbuds

According to a Chinese tipster on Weibo, OpenAI is gearing up to launch its first hardware product - a pair of earbuds, of course, powered by the company's own AI model. According to the report, the company decided to scale back on its hardware efforts for the time being, likely because of the rising hardware costs. At first, OpenAI was rumored to be working on a small pendant or a pen, which is in line with the CEO Sam Altman's remarks about the device being more "peaceful and calm" than a smartphone. Especially after OpenAI hired Apple's ex-chief designer Jony Ive. Plans have...

Weekly poll results: most people still don't care about magnetic charging

Last week we asked you how important magnetic wireless charging is to you. For now, the majority doesn’t particularly care – at best it’s a “nice to have” feature for them but nothing vital. The argument is simple, especially now that the whole world has converged on USB-C for charging – just use a cable. It’s faster and more efficient than any form of wireless charging. There is a caveat – many of the people who reported that they use wired charging only also said that they don’t need top-ups during the day. These days, phone batteries have gotten quite huge, so finding a phone that...

Weekly deals: OnePlus 13 is back with a vengeance, Pixel 10 Pro and 10 Pro XL on sale

There are two sayings that can’t both be true at the same time: “newer is better” and “old but gold”. Today, we’re going with the second one. Amazon dug up some left over OnePlus 13 units – only 12/256GB – and is selling them at $700. Coincidentally, that is the same price that the new OnePlus 15R sells for (to be fair, that also comes with a $100 gift card or store credit). The OnePlus 13 has the better screen (1440p+ LTPO vs. 1272p+ LTPS), better cameras (triple 50MP including a 3x/73mm periscope vs. no tele camera at all), even its chipset is better – the Snapdragon 8 Elite edges out...

This revelation comes from the folks at WABetaInfo, who discovered this under-development Custom Lists feature in beta version 2.26.5.11 of WhatsApp for Android. As the name suggests, Custom Lists allows WhatsApp users to create lists for different audiences who can see their...

Samsung Galaxy S26 official renders leak

Following up on the earlier leak showing the Galaxy S26 Ultra from all angles through a 360-degree video, Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) is now back with some very official-looking high-res renders depicting what seems to be the vanilla Galaxy S26. Of course there's a chance it's the S26+ in these images, but based on how much the camera island occupies of the total length, it's a tad more likely it's the S26. Samsung Galaxy S26 leaked renders There is, of course, nothing new here, but we are seeing the white color and all of the previously leaked features of the design are...

Quick Share-AirDrop interoperability is coming to all Android phones soon

Google delighted its Pixel users last year by introducing an updated version of Quick Share that worked with Apple's AirDrop, but it has remained exclusive to the Pixel 10 series with a promise to bring it to older Pixel phones as well. Now Eric Kay, Vice President of Engineering at Google, confirmed that Quick Share compatibility with Apple's AirDrop is coming to a wider range of Android devices. Maybe the signs were there all along after Google upgraded the Quick Share Extension from a system app to a full-fledged APK that can be found on Google Play. This was a clear sign that...

DJI is expected to come out with a highly anticipated successor any day now, but in the meantime it looks like it's getting some new competition. vivo has confirmed to Chinese media outlets that it is working on a vlogging camera of its own. This will compete with the upcoming DJI Osmo Pocket 4, using vivo's experience with smartphone cameras. It will be compact, of course, but unfortunately no...

After Google and Microsoft added AI-powered features to their Chrome and Edge browsers, Firefox was quick to follow and offered a handful of AI features to its users. Those include an AI tool for tab grouping, AI-powered translation and even quick access to an AI chatbot. However, not everyone is on board with the new AI push from companies, and a lot of users expressed their dissatisfaction with Mozilla's decision to shove yet another AI functionality down users' throats. That's why Firefox is adding an AI kill switch with the upcoming February 24 update. Mozilla's CEO,...
