Last week Canalys released its 2024 smartphone shipment numbers for China, and today Counterpoint Research (CR) has done the same. The numbers are quite different, though. While vivo led with a 17.8% market share for the year, and Huawei was in second place with 16.3%, the third place in CR's report is occupied by Xiaomi with 15.7% of the pie, not Apple. Apple is fourth with 15.5%, followed by Honor with 15% and Oppo with 14.3%. Xiaomi wasn't even in Canalys' Top 5, so we're not sure what's going on here.
