قال علاء عبد العال مدرب أسوان إنه كان يخشى أن تعيده مواجهة الزمالك إلى نقطة الصفر، مشيرا إلى أنه تسلم الفريق في حالة إحباط شديدة ولاعبيه فاقدي للثقة وكان يهدف لإعادته إلى مساره الصحيح سريعا. وذلك في تصريحاته عبر قناة "أون تايم سبورتس".
