Check out some iPhone Air photo samples, we've got selfies too

It's quite obvious that the new iPhone Air's key selling point isn't the camera, but that doesn't mean it can get away with mediocre image quality. The only camera on the back uses a familiar 48MP, 1/1.56" sensor coupled with an f/1.6 aperture. Apple promises lossless, optical-like zoom quality at 2x to compensate for the absence of a dedicated zoom camera. We'll reserve the judgment on how well that works until the review is complete and we've done a detailed analysis across all our test scenes, but for now here are some 1x and 2x shots. iPhone Air: 1x • 2x The...

Top 10 trending phones of week 38

Much like last week, our trending chart is dominate by Apple's iPhone 17 series, but there were some changes in the top four. Once again the Pro Max flagship ended up victorious, but the vanilla model replaced the Air in the second position. [#InlinePriceWidget, 13964, 1#] That probably doesn't bode too well for what Apple hopes to be its next iconic model, but it's not too far behind in third. The 17 Pro was once again the least popular member of the new lineup, but still managed to retain its fourth position. Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra gained a couple of spots to place fifth,...

Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra in for review

Samsung announced its lastest flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, earlier this month during the annual IFA in Berlin, and now we have it in the office and about to start working on its review. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is an impressive device with its massive 14.6-inch display. The panel remains unchanged from last year, but that's not an issue given that the screen was excellent in the first place. It offers supports 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. The chipset gets an upgrade, though, from last year's Dimensity 9300+ to 9400+ now. Memory configurations still span from...

Weekly poll: would you buy the Sony Xperia 10 VII?

Sony’s latest Xperia mid-ranger launched on Friday – the Sony Xperia 10 VII brings significant changes to the design while maintaining that Sony feel, plus it features several important hardware upgrades. The new camera “visor” design may be the most visible change, but the new display is the most important one – the 6.1” panel now has an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 instead of the tall and narrow 21:9 of the Mark 6. It’s also a 120Hz panel (finally!), though we found a lot of issues with this particular implementation. Sony Xperia 10 VII The new aspect ratio makes the phone a...

Weekly poll results: the iPhone 17 challenges the 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max is the most popular

Last week, we asked you which (if any) of the new iPhones you would buy. We are now looking at the results and, unsurprisingly, the vanilla model is eating into the small Pro’s market share, while the big Pro Max is the most popular. The Apple iPhone 17 may be the big winner this generation, at least in terms of improvement over its predecessor. With a number of significant upgrades and staying at the same price as last year, many will flock to this model - including people that in previous years would have gone with a Pro. The vanilla model is 29g lighter than and has a, how shall we put...

Xiaomi exec compares the 17 Pro Max to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, reveals more details

Xiaomi is getting ready to unveil the 17 series later this month, and ahead of that Lu Weibing, the company's President, took to Weibo to compare the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. You can see his hands-on with both in the short video below. The point of this was to assuage people's fears that Xiaomi copied the camera island design from Apple - he's basically saying you can see how different they are. But, if you ignore Xiaomi's screen occupying the island, we can't really see that much of a difference. Xiaomi says the design was inspired by the Mi 11 Ultra from 2021,...

The iQOO 15 is expected to be among the first devices powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC that Qualcomm is making official on September 23. An LED strip surrounding the camera ring. You can see it in the promo image below.
